Line Cook / Prep Cook Opportunity - Epworth Villa
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Starting Pay: $18+ per hour, depending on experience
Status: Full-Time with Advancement Opportunities

Epworth Villa invites dedicated culinary professionals to join our team as a Line Cook or Prep Cook. As a faith-based, non-profit Life Plan Community, our mission is to Enhance Lives so People Thrive. Every meal we serve contributes to the comfort, nutrition, and quality of life of our residents.

Position Overview

Our kitchen operates daily from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are seeking dependable, team-oriented individuals who take pride in preparing and serving quality food. These Full-Time positions offer opportunities for growth and advancement for employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and a commitment to excellence.

Applicants must have flexible availability to meet operational needs. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Line Cook Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, production sheets, and quality standards.
  • Ensure meals are prepared accurately, attractively, and on time for service.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Operate grills, ovens, fryers, steamers, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with inventory control and proper storage of food products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
  • Record food temperatures and complete required food safety documentation.
  • Assist with kitchen closing duties and equipment shutdown procedures.

Prep Cook Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients for daily meal service, including washing, cutting, chopping, slicing, and portioning foods.
  • Assemble salads, desserts, cold items, and other prepared foods as assigned.
  • Label, date, store, and rotate food products according to food safety standards.
  • Assist cooks with food preparation and kitchen production needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, storage rooms, and equipment.
  • Wash and sanitize food preparation equipment and utensils.
  • Support efficient kitchen operations by ensuring ingredients and supplies are readily available.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional food service experience preferred for Prep Cook positions.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional cooking experience preferred for Line Cook positions.
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, restaurant, hospitality, or high-volume food service environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
