Primary Function:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Manager to join our Security, IT & Cyber team within a growing, private Department of Defense (DoD) contractor environment. The Security Manager will oversee key compliance, policy, and operational security functions while serving as the primary point of accountability for Cyber and IT-related processes. This role directly supports the Director of Security and works closely with program management, quality, and leadership teams to ensure robust cybersecurity posture, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of security-related responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain internal systems to ensure compliance with AS9100, CMMC, and others as applicable.
  2. Perform CAM (Contract Account Manager) Duties, including oversight of assigned contracts and associated financial/technical responsibilities.
  3. Support Contract Proposals and Basis of Estimate (BOE's) development from a security, cyber, and IT perspective.
  4. Provide CMMC Oversight and serve as Policy Approver; lead CMMC mitigation efforts for Long Wave.
  5. Deliver QMS Support, including participation in audits, meetings, and serving as the EPG & CCB representative for Cyber & Security.
  6. Implement, oversee, and enforce company Cyber/IT Policies across the organization.
  7. Assist with compliance measures for CMMC, NIST, RMF, and other applicable DoD and industry frameworks.
  8. Coordinate with program teams, quality, and leadership to embed security requirements into contracts, builds, and operational processes.
  9. Support security audits, inspections, and assessments conducted by internal or external entities (including DCSA).
  10. Provide security and cybersecurity and compliance training and awareness to employees as needed.
  11. Maintain detailed records of policies, mitigations, audits, and compliance activities in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  12. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively convey information across all levels of the organization.
  13. Work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  14. Take on additional responsibilities and perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
  15. Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based with some travel to secure facilities and partner sites as required.
  • May require occasional work outside normal business hours to support security operations and incident response.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD clearance (Top Secret preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, compliance, or IT/cyber operations, preferably in a DoD contractor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMC requirements, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with policy development, quality management systems (QMS), and contract support activities.
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CMMC Registered Practitioner (or equivalent) is highly desired.
  • Possess an active DoD security clearance at the time of hire (verification required).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior experience performing CAM duties or supporting contract proposals/BOEs in a defense contracting environment.
  • Direct experience leading CMMC implementation, mitigation, and oversight activities.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), EPG processes, and internal audit support.
  • Working knowledge of internal system content management and company-wide policy enforcement.

  • This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
