The Healthcare Center Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for the Healthcare Center, providing professional, courteous support to residents, family members, visitors, and staff. This role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with the Healthcare Center's daily routines. This position manages incoming calls and visitor flow.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls and provide accurate information or route calls appropriately.
Greet, assist, and direct residents, family members, and visitors in a pleasant and respectful manner.
Maintain knowledge of daily Healthcare Center routines to effectively respond to questions and requests.
Prepare laboratory requisitions as needed and assist nursing staff with lab coordination.
Ensure faxes are distributed to the appropriate nursing halls in a timely manner.
Sign for deliveries and coordinate medication deliveries with a CMA or nurse as required.
Monitor alarms and security cameras to support resident safety.
Collect, copy, and distribute written telephone orders at the end of each shift.
Serve as the on-shift Evening Supervisor, supporting operations and communication during assigned hours.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support Healthcare Center operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
Strong customer service mindset with a solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
Ability to manage multiple phone lines efficiently.
Experience using office equipment including a ten-key adding machine, postal machine, and copier.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical and Work Requirements
Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
