Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Excellence & Implementation: Lead comprehensive safety initiatives driven by data. Conduct daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments while implementing innovative solutions to prevent injuries. Deliver engaging safety training that resonates with team members and fosters a proactive safety culture. Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance workplace safety while ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Associate Advocacy & Cultural Leadership: Act as a trusted safety advisor advocating for associate wellbeing, forging strong partnerships across all organization levels. Promote a culture where safety is prioritized through effective communication, coaching, and positive reinforcement. Build solid relationships with frontline associates and management to drive behavioral changes that integrate safety best practices into everyday habits. Transform safety data into compelling narratives to influence positive change and boost engagement in safety initiatives.

Additional Job Elements:

  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with varying noise levels.
  • It may be necessary to work in changing temperatures and weather conditions (roles may involve outdoor loading areas).
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (if applicable to the site).
  • Provide effective care in emergencies and assist emergency response efforts.

Must be available for flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. If you do not have a valid First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, you will need to obtain it within three weeks of your start date.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, particularly 29 CFR 1910.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field, OR a Bachelor's degree in an EHS-relevant background, OR 6 months of safety-related experience at Amazon.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues in the workplace.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in workers' compensation case management.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in a safety-related discipline.
  • Strong skills in communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, analyzing accident data and assessing safety concerns in new processes and machinery.
  • Experience in emergency response with current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Our compensation reflects labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets, ranging from $52,400/year in the lowest market to $76,500/year in the highest.
