The primary purpose of the Shipping Clerk position is to ensure the accurate and timely closing of orders in the Oracle system while verifying that all paperwork aligns with the items being shipped. Additionally, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all skids are loaded onto trailers for transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the shipping transaction screen in Oracle to search for the specific order that needs to be closed.
- Verify whether the order is complete on the shipping transaction screen, ensuring that all items are accounted for.
- Print a summary sheet of the License Plate Numbers (LPNs) associated with the order and proceed to the dock to physically verify the presence of all LPNs.
- Combine any LPNs that require consolidation for efficient shipping.
- After combining LPNs, confirm that all items are listed under a single delivery number before proceeding with order closure.
- Ensure that the routing information is accurate. If a PRO (carrier tracking number) is necessary, ensure it matches the designated carrier.
- Input the appropriate comments regarding the quantity of skids, bundles, and loose items, then close the order in the system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workstation for efficient workflow.
- Ability to multitask and effectively communicate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in assembling and filing documents as needed.
- Demonstrate the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: - The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours, and lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Possesses good vision to read documents and accurately inspect items for quality.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) is necessary for performing job functions accurately.
- Ability to complete daily production records accurately with basic writing skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills are essential for conveying and understanding work assignments and problem explanations.
- Good hand-eye coordination is essential for efficient job operation.
- Clear vision is necessary for visually inspecting items for quality assurance.
