Overview

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center (OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,000 square foot ballroom, 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park.

Job Description

This role will be responsible for assisting with and supervising all aspects of Human Resources, including Associate Relations, Benefits, Training, Safety & Workers Compensation, Recruitment, liability prevention, and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise, train and support hourly and management Human Resources Associates.
  2. Provide counsel to the Director of Human Resources in all areas of Omni policy, culture, and leadership.
  3. Maintain legal compliance at all times and ensure that the team is up-to-date with evolving legislation.
  4. Maintain all Associate Service Center Standard Operating Procedures, including compliance with all Internal Audit requirements.
  5. Monitor the Associate Engagement Survey and assist the Hotel in creating substantial action plans.
  6. Ensure the Hotel complies with all training required by law (e.g., Alcohol Training, Food Handler, Sexual Harassment).
  7. Implement Omni Training and Development Programs successfully and recommend new training programs as needed.
  8. Assist the Director of Human Resources in developing and maintaining an active succession plan for all departments.
  9. Ensure onboarding and terminations are implemented according to Omni standards.
  10. Conduct exit interviews for all terminating associates and ensure final clearance and paycheck distribution.
  11. Ensure Omni Benefits programs are implemented according to standards.
  12. Implement the performance appraisal and salary increase programs according to Omni standards.
  13. Establish an effective recruiting and employment function, including job fairs in the community, colleges, and universities.
  14. Assist with the implementation of the Hotels wage and salary adjustment programs.
  15. Provide guidance and advice to Hotel leadership on employee relations issues.
  16. Conduct investigations and assist the Director of Human Resources and Senior Leadership in employment status decisions.
  17. Document all associate issues in a timely manner following counseling and disciplinary procedures.
  18. Assist the Director of Human Resources in creating responses to employment litigation.
  19. Plan and execute innovative, fun, and engaging Associate events monthly.
  20. Consistently work to define Omni Culture and Six Pillar philosophy on the property.
  21. Implement Omnis recognition programs and ensure the Omni Service Champion culture is celebrated.
  22. Participate in yearly budgeting process, forecasting expenditures for associate relations.
  23. Fulfill all responsibilities of the Director of Human Resources in their absence.
  24. Fulfill reasonable requests of management as directed by the Director of Human Resources and/or General Manager.

Qualifications

  1. At least 4 years of experience in Human Resources, with large Hotel/Resort experience preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a Human Resources leadership role.
  3. SPHR and/or PHR Certification preferred.
  4. Significant employee relations experience at a decision-making level.
  5. A well-rounded Human Resources background with solid experience in employee relations, benefits, training, safety, and compliance.
  6. Hotel Operations management experience preferred.
  7. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Bachelors Degree strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

  1. Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  2. Stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  3. Utilize desktop computer and office equipment for an extended period.
