Site Quality Inspector (Multi-trade)

Position Summary

Perform in-process and final inspections of welding, piping, mechanical, civil, and structural scope of work, based project quality standards and process controls, and ensure requirements are being met throughout the field build process.

This position is a site-based position and will require extended stays away from home.

Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections relevant to welding, piping, mechanical, civil, and structural scope of works, all mandatory testing per project specification and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with third party for welding NDE and its daily inspections and testing.
  • In-process inspections of the civil works, inspection, and issuance of concrete pour cards. Maintain a site concrete break log that is supported by 3rd party field reports from the testing agency.
  • Maintain the site weld log both in hard copy and electronic version and support welders' qualifications efforts.
  • Assist SQM to select weld procedures, certify welders, inspect welds, track material and welds, develop turnover documentation, and perform MT and PT NDE testing.
  • Conduct inspection to structural steel structural erection and miscellaneous supports installation and testing.
  • Enforce ITP, project specifications and engineering documentation proactively.
  • Monitor and enforce ITP, project specification to subcontractors, ensure records/turnover documentation are current.
  • Identify and control all NCR related to the civil scope of the project. Issue Nonconformance Reports when there is a deficiency and ensure their timely close out.
  • Follow up on inspection remediation process for disciplines involved for changes or rework related to an NCR.
  • Ensure timely completion of paperwork and turnover documentation and assist with project completions.
  • Maintain both hard copy and electronic copy of the inspection sheets and test data developed during the construction build effort. Turn over books will be maintained and audited on site.
  • Monitor associated discipline work and prepare, issue quality reports/forms and review records.
  • Assist SQM in administrating Project Quality Control Plan and Company Quality Manual.
  • Assist SQM on corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to code requirements and ensure that all associated documentation and quality records are filled out correctly and maintained.
  • Coordinate Quality activities with area/disciple supervisors and owner/client when applicable.
  • Ensure, through inspection, that work is conducted per procedures and ensure all required documentation is filled out thoroughly, completely and maintained per company policy.
Minimum Qualifications
  • CWI required
  • 5+ years' experience in related piping and mechanical discipline.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to read and interpret piping and mechanical drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be able to read and interpret civil, structural and drawings.
  • Ability to perform routine Inspection and Test Plan tasks without supervision.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system.
  • Proficiency in use of measurement and calibrated tooling.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position requires travel.
  • Verifiable field work experience.
  • Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
