About the Position: The incumbent in this position is assigned responsibilities related to preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports in the medical records unit.
- Reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy and referring incomplete or inaccurate reports to appropriate staff for correction.
- Preparing statistical, case, and other types of reports.
- Preparing materials and forms and gathering all pertinent information and data for admissions and discharges.
- Ensuring all data is properly coded.
- Preparing and entering the facility census info and reporting the data.
- Part time
- $16.59/hour
- Primary Working Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-1pm
- No holidays

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of eligibility for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physicians office.
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid drivers license.

Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
